Kia ora koutou!
Welcome to Waitutu Forest Lodge
Come and discover......
Waitutu Forest Lodge is located in one of the most spectacular and remote locations in the South Island of New Zealand. The Lodge is situated alongside the Wairaurahiri River right at the base of Fiordland National Park. If the weather is clear, the Solander Islands and Rakiura (Stewart Island) can be seen from standing on the south coast beach, just a few minutes walk from the Lodge.
The owners of Waitutu Incorporation, welcome guests to Waitutu Forest Lodge to have a “Waitutu Experience”. Here, guests are offered a unique insight into our world that has been shaped by our Tupuna, our Māori culture, our traditions, our environment and our whakapapa. |

The Waitutu experience offers guests the opportunity to go on a journey of discovery from the SILNA beginnings to where Waitutu is today.
But at the centre of it all is manaaki manuhiri – care and respect for all people, from all places. We, the owners, want to share with our guests, our whare (Lodge), our stories, our people and our whenua (land).
Guests may arrive as strangers, but they will leave Waitutu Forest and Lodge as members of our whānau.
